Carol Heft studied drawing and painting with Robert Brackman, N.A. in Madison Connecticut from the age 12 – 16. She later attended the Rhode Island School of Design where she earned a B.F.A and Hunter College, M.Ed. She currently teaches at Muhlenberg College, and Cedar Crest College, in Allentown PA, and St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, New York. Carol has had several solo shows at the Blue Mountain Gallery in NYC where she is a gallery artist. Some of her other solo exhibitions took place at Dakota State University, the Palazzo dell’Annunziata in Mattera, Italy, The University of South Carolina, the DaLuca Gallery in Easton, PA. the Washington Art Association, Washington Deopt, Ct, and Fairleigh Dickinson University Gallery, and Gallery on the Green, in Pawling, NY. She has also been represented by the First Gallery Grassina in Florence, Italy. Carol’s curatorial credits include an exhibition in Matera Italy with Pino Nicoletti. She has written critical essays for the artists in this exhibition, published in catalog, 2015. Carol also curated an exhibition of Seven Contemporary American Artists in the Palazzo Torlonia, Avezzano, Italy and wrote critical essays for the catalog. She is currently on the editorial board of High Art Fridays, an online global art group founded by Ron Shelton, and has written critical essays for their website and catalogs. Her work is included in the 2017 publication “40 Contemporary Artists.” Carol Heft currently lives and works in New York City and Bethlehem, PA.
