Carol Heft: The Changing Landscape: Motion and Memory is the fourth in this 2020 series of virtual art exhibitions curated by Cynthia Hawkins, gallery director and curator at the Bertha V.B. Lederer Gallery at the State University of New York, Geneseo.
The Changing Landscape presents to the public 21 gestural graphite drawings of the human figure and the landscape. Both series in this exhibit illustrate how important drawing is to artist Carol Heft. They also make viewers aware of how enlivening the gesture drawing can be; they are dynamic and imbued movement and the figure drawings suggest movement to music. The interview along with presentations of Heft’s drawings provided viewers insight to the artist’s practice and process.
